What is a family?

For example I don’t feel any connection to my family besides my parents and grandma. When I look at media I barely see any examples of what resembles my future family picture. Do I even want children or not? and if I want them how is it going to work?
I want to make people aware that there is so much more. People still look down on people who want to settle alone or raise a child on their own. Now we have terms like “rainbow families” and this is causing to seperate certain types of families when every sort of family is just a family.

Together with people I see as family I started crocheting this tent. All the pieces are different sizes, colors and textures. Me and my mom kept texting each other our process  and it was a new form of bonding with each other. And also talking about family and how she still has a more ’traditional’ view on it.

With this tent I want to start a conversation of what a family is. There is no right or wrong.
